Gmail Chats

Turn Gmail threads into chats — without leaving Gmail

Read, organize, and reply to Gmail conversations in a messenger-style interface. Gmail stays the source of truth. Email content stays local in your browser.

7-day trial starts when you link your account in the extension — no card required.

No new email client. No migration. No server-side mailbox storage.

What is Gmail Chats?

  • A Chrome extension — not a separate email client
  • Works on mail.google.com as a chat overlay
  • Gmail remains the source of truth for every thread
  • Email bodies live in your browser (IndexedDB), not on our servers
  • Replies still send through Gmail

Google mail vs. Gmail Chats

mail.google.com

For people who live in Gmail

Founders & operators

Client threads, investors, partners, contractors — one chat per person instead of hunting through search.

Freelancers & consultants

Jump back to client dialogs, attachments, and decisions without losing context in long threads.

Power Gmail users

Labels, search, and threads — with a faster chat-first UI and no migration.

Small teams

Read group email threads as group chats without another shared inbox or messenger.

Gmail stores emails. You work in conversations.

  • Finding the right thread for one person takes search gymnastics
  • Group context gets buried under forwards and CC noise
  • Quick replies feel formal — every message is a mini email
  • Attachments and decisions scatter across long threads

A chat layer on top of Gmail

  • Personal chats — one external email, one conversation
  • Group chats — multi-participant threads with a subject title
  • Gmail labels as filters in the sidebar
  • Attachments as cards; replies batched and sent via Gmail
  • No migration — turn the overlay on or off anytime

FAQ

Is Gmail Chats a new email client?
No. Gmail remains the source of truth. Gmail Chats is a Chrome extension that adds a chat-style interface on top of Gmail.
Do you store my emails on your servers?
No. Email body, subject, snippets, and attachment binary are not stored on the Gmail Chats backend. Email content is handled locally in your browser and through Gmail API.
Do replies still go through Gmail?
Yes. Replies are sent through Gmail and remain in the original email thread.
Can I still use Gmail normally?
Yes. Gmail Chats is an overlay. You can turn it on or off and continue using Gmail as usual.
What happens after the trial?
After the 7-day trial, active Pro access is required. If you do not subscribe, Gmail Chats shows a paywall. You can upgrade anytime during the trial — no card required to start.
Why do I need to connect Gmail?
The extension needs Gmail API access to read your threads, build local chats, show labels, and send replies through Gmail.
Is this an AI email assistant?
No. Gmail Chats is a chat-first interface for Gmail. The "Ask an AI" section on this page helps you evaluate the product with external assistants — not inside your mailbox.
